Sleigh Ride: DAVIDs TEA

I’ve never been on a real “sleigh ride” with a sleigh and a horse and blankets wrapped up to my neck, so I’m just going to imagine it for a moment. The sleigh ride in my head features rolling hills covered in smooth white movie-set snow that sparkles in the sun. The sky is blue and the air is crisp… just cold enough to see your breath. There’s me and five friends, buried under colourful quilts, with brightly coloured mittens and touques, singing and laughing and sipping at thermoses of hot… what??… buttered rum?… brandy?… sake?… nooooooo…. TEA!!! Sleigh Ride tea!!!

“Sleigh Ride” is a fruit infusion containing apples, hibiscus, pineapple, papaya, beetroot, cinnamon, raisins, coconut, almonds, popped rice, and natural and artificial flavours. There are huge chunks of fruits, apples, raisins, popped rice visible in the mix. It looks festive and smells delicious!

I steep 2 tsps in my magical “teal steeper” from DAVIDs TEA. The tea is a cheery bright red, and smells like apples and cinnamon… warm and homey and inviting.

The flavour is a deliciously tart apple (apple and hibiscus) and cinnamon. It reminds me of cinnamon hearts and candy apples and fresh apple pie! MMMMMMmmmm. The aftertaste is something smooth and sweet and a bit earthy… vanilla, coconut, rice…. yeah, like Rice Krispie squares! It’s a delightful combination, and I need another cup!

Never mind that in reality, the snow is brown and slushy, the sky is grey, and the wind painfully freezes the skin off your bones. Never mind that the friends are too tired to sing and we are desperately sick of our mittens and parkas and boots. Never mind that I’m deathly allergic to horses. DAVIDs TEA’s “Sleigh Ride” tea makes it all jolly and happy and warm… just right for sharing on a cold winter’s day!

This tea is available at DAVIDs TEA and at the time of writing is on sale at 40% off. Also, check out “Eggnog Rooibos“!
